We have gone through it head to toe. I could write a book on what we’ve done to this truck but I’ll try to condense it. We specialize in restoring these late model “R”Mack Trucks. This truck started as a factory dump truck and was owned by a municipality in the south. It has zero rust but was in need of new paint and the bed was worn out. We go over these trucks with a fine tooth comb. I personally drove the truck in 50 miles to the shop and it ran great but the transmission showed wear at that time. We started by checking out the engine, and while adjusting the valves, we found that the cam was worn on one lobe, so we replaced the cam and lifters with new Mack parts. During this process the engine got new gaskets on the oil pan, valve covers, front cover ect. We replaced the transmission with a remanufactured unit. At that time we also replaced the clutch. The truck has a ride well non steerable 13.5K pusher axle with air up and air down. We checked the bearings, put new oil caps, new wheels, all new OEM air bags, new virgin 16 ply tires and new controls on it. We replaced any U joints showing wear, serviced  the rear ends and brakes then replaced all the wheels and tires with new virgin 16 plys.
